Buying Tips

What to look out for

Many of the Bruiser/Mountaineer parts have been discontinued by Tamiya. When considering a used vehicle, you don't want to spend too much money on something missing key components.

Not available: bodies, bruiser decals, bevel shafts, front driveshafts, knuckle arms, hub shafts, leaf springs, shackles, many of the pressed steel parts, bumpers and trims, interior, rubber parts. That's not to say some dealer or collector may not have these to spare, just that you can't get them from Tamiya.

In short, if the truck is missing key components (driveline, any of the axles, stampings, body missing trim) you might be better off using it for parts.

Where to find them?

There seems to be a constant supply of trucks and parts on eBay. Sometimes you can find NIB (new in box) kits there, but beware, the prices can get up there! I also sell parts occasionally there.
